I am really not quite sure what has happened...I used to be overly verbose in my blog and now I've seemingly clammed up. I don't think it's just here, either. I don't really want to talk about my "problems" (or whatever they are) in general. Perhaps it's because I don't really know what's wrong or what I want and everything that I could say is probably wrong anyway.

Blah.

Yes, I realized that I just had two weekend getaways in a row (and YES I realize that I have yet to post about either) but I still feel like I need to get away. Is that bad?

Well, on a lighter note.

You Are A Romantic Realist
You are more romantic than 30% of the population.
You tend to be grounded when it comes to romance. Sure, you can fall hard... but only for someone you've gotten to know. And once you're in love, you can be a total romantic goofball... But you'd never admit it to your friends!

I stole that from Sar's archives. She got 90%.

Redefine Magazine

Founded by Xin's friend Vivian. I found Redefine while looking through Audrey (April/May 2006) and noticed that the founder's name was a wee bit familiar.

And while I'm plugging Vivian, why not plug her new site (still under construction) SushiMonsters.com? It's not up yet but I think you can sign up for a mailing list of some sort so you can be notified of its launch.

Oh, and sign up for faqqly.com too because I need more friends :) Search for me with this email address: midor1 [at] yahoo [dot] com.

Anyhoozles, today is my last full day for this week :D Cruise + half day tomorrow = omegagood!

FAQQLY.com

Site built by a friend of Xinlei's. I am still a bit lost and confused, but go sign up and add me as a friend because I only have two friends: Xinlei and Dave L. which is a dude that I do not know (kind of like my "friend" Tom on MySpace).

Well actually I do know a Dave L. but it's not the same Dave L. that I am "friends" with on faqqly :(

glow in the dark

I jumped on the build-a-tan (you know, those "gradual" self-tanners) boat last summer in an effort to extend my summer (light) brown-ness. I was using Jergens for a month or two but then stopped around the winter. It smelled funny and wasn't giving me really noticeable results. Really.

However, after a terribly long-feeling winter I have now returned to my natural pastiness which is bad bad bad since I have a sunny cruise on the horizon. I saw Banana Boat's gradual self-tanner in some magazine recently and the magazine stated that it will make you significantly tanner in about five days. It was two-for-one at Target so I figured why the hell not?

The stuff isn't bad. It smells more like a regular lotion (unlike the Jergens stuff which has what Leanne described as a BBQ sauce-y smell) and after three applications I can safely say that I am no longer paper-white but instead a nice, healthy off-white :)

My legs are hurting hurting I really hope I'm not getting sick....

Uh oh...

My legs are aching nooo

I'd better not be getting sick!

blahhhhhhh

Hmm...

On second thought, I don't even know if he'd notice. I wear perfume every day but the only fragrance he's ever had a strong (positive) reaction to is my deodorant ;P

Men's cologne?

I think I actually like Issey Miyake's men's fragrance better than his women's fragrance. Would it be weird if I started wearing cologne? I dunno if he would go for that though ;P

DOMAIN

Yes, as Irv has brought to my attention, this would probably be a good time to move to my own domain. Goodness knows I would make good use of it.

I think that there have been two factors that have contributed to me not moving sooner: Changing URL's is a pain in the ass and what on earth would I use as my domain name? I guess one other thing I'd have to look into is where to get server space. Any ideas?

old food post (as in the photos of food are old not the food in the photos is old)

Ramen and Ice Cream

Yum yum! These photos are from, like, a year ago. The 45 cent B.A.B.E.s (well, B.A.B.s) got together for some Shin Sen Gumi ramen on Brookhurst and followed it up with a walk to Coldstone's for some ice cold ice cream.

SO...the evening began with us loitering in the parking lot waiting for the restaurant to open. We got in, ate, and then left the restaurant so we could loiter in the parking lot some more. I think it took a while for us to decide what we were going to do next (go to Coldstone's)

So we went to Coldstone's and loitered there. The end?

Okay, not the end. On the way back to our cars in the shin sen gumi parking lot I tried to take a picture of the folks on the opposite side of the street. Right as I took the picture a car rolled in right in front of me. Look at how she's posing. Nice!

summer is coming!

The weather is about a billion times warmer than it was about a month ago. Warmer weather == a much happier me.

Am listening to music from earlier college/high school days. It reminds me of being that age and what I wanted back then. I can say that yes, at this very moment I am reasonably satisfied with where I am right now. Things certainly aren't perfect but they really could be a lot worse. In any case if, as a high school sophomore, I was able to look seven years into the future and see myself sitting here now, I'd be content in knowing that things will work themselves out.

For those of you thrown by my sudden (uncharacteristic) positive outlook, don't worry, I'm sure Monday (cursed Mondays...) will bring me crashing back down to earth :)

BlogSpot?

In case you're wondering why I'm here, it's because irvsjournal.com's server is not letting me in. Yes, I do have an LJ and a Xanga but I prefer having everything (all posts, all comments) in one place.

SO...here I am. For now. It's not so bad :)

Suckage

I just ate half of a (small) doughnut because I need a little food in my stomach before I can take my Advil (bloody hell! Literally!). Lyndon is currently eating another doughnut plus the half I left behind. Why is it that half a doughnut makes me expand to amazing widths but one and a half doughnuts does absolutely nothing to him? Yesterday we both went to Jack in the Box for lunch. I had a southwest chicken salad and didn't use the dressing or eat the cheese. He had a breakfast burrito, a breakfast jack, and a hash brown.

I guess part of it is because he's a foot taller than me.

Unfair unfair unfair.

Monday

So...

work == headache. I think this is crunch time. Unfortunately the time we will be crunching is a bit longer (a few months I believe) than I'd like to think. Yay for two half days that are coming up (cruise cruise cruise!)...followed up by the first long weekend we've had since New Year's which I will be spending in Northern California :)

I have a bitty iPod thanks to someone lovely.

Da Vinci Code

Da Vinci Code coming out in theaters :)

I'll probably watch it at some time or another...I like Tom Hanks and Audrey Tatou. I have the feeling I won't like it all that much (the book itself wasn't all that great and the movie is rarely better than the book) but that's okay. I went to see Memoirs of a Geisha knowing that I wouldn't like it and voila, I didn't!

Has anyone seen the imdb message boards? DVC and Brokeback Mt. both have mighty interesting threads...and by interesting I mean scary. But more on that later.

Server is still denying access ;(
